Calgary, AB (March 27, 2019) – Cavalry FC announces the signing of international striker Dominique Malonga of France.
Dominique Malonga (FRA) was born in Châtenay-Malabry, the suburbs of Paris, France. He developed his early youth career at French Ligue 1 side AS Monaco and came through the famed French development system of Clarefontaine, representing France internationally up until U19.
In 2007 Malonga moved from France to join Serie A club Torino FC in Italy where he played until 2009. Following his time with Torino FC, Malonga signed with another Italian team, AC Cesena. During the 2012-2013 season, Malonga was loaned to L.R. Vicenza Virtus where he scored 10 goals over his 38 appearances.
Malonga joined Spanish Segunda División side Real Murcia (Spain) on a season-long loan from 2013-2014 before moving to Hibernian FC in Scotland, becoming a cult hero as he scored 17 goals in 43 appearances before departing back to Italy in 2016. Malonga has since had spells with Elche (Spain), Servette FC (Switzerland) and AO Chania Kissamikos(Greece) before arriving here in Calgary for the upcoming inaugural 2019 Canadian Premier League.
Malonga is a Congo international having switched his international allegiances to represent the country of his heritage.
