Bruno Zebie joins Cavalry FC for the 2020 Season

Calgary, AB (February 5, 2020) – Cavalry FC welcomes midfielder Bruno Zebie (CAN) back to Calgary and to the roster for the 2020 season.

Bruno Zebie started his journey to professional soccer with the FC Edmonton Academy and was called up to his first professional start with FC Edmonton in 2017. Zebie spent the remainder of 2017 and 2018 seasons with Calgary Foothills where he was part of the squad that captured the 2018 Premier Development League (PDL), now the USL League Two (USL2), championship. The 24 year-old now returns to Calgary to wear the colours of Cavalry FC.

“We (Cavalry FC) are delighted to sign Bruno for our 2020 squad.  He adds such great depth to the team with his energy, passing accuracy and positional versatility not to mention he has a fantastic character that will only add to our strong club culture.  Having worked with him at Calgary Foothills in 2017 and the 2018 Championship season in the PDL (now USL2), he was always somewhat of an unsung hero for the work he did for the team on and off the ball.  We kept tabs on him through his season with FC Edmonton and felt, if he was available, it was right to bring him back to Calgary and add to our squad.” – Tommy Wheeldon Jr. (Head Coach & General Manager).

Zebie played for FC Edmonton during the Canadian Premier League’s inaugural 2019 season and had 23 appearances with one goal.

“Being able to come back to Calgary to play for the Cavs was a very appealing prospect to me” stated Zebie. “I love the city, the fans and what made the decision easier for me was the fact that I’ve worked with the coaching staff and many players before with great success.”
