Cavalry FC and Forge FC to play in CPL Final, Nov. 9 on ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows
Canadian Premier League

For the second year in a row — and the third time overall — Cavalry FC and Forge FC will meet in the Canadian Premier League Final, which this year will be played on Nov. 9 at Calgary’s ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows.

Forge booked their spot in the championship game on Saturday afternoon, as they defeated Atlético Ottawa 1-0 in the CPL semi-final at Tim Hortons Field. They will now have a chance to win a fifth title in six years and lift the North Star Cup once again.

The week prior, Cavalry earned the right to host this season’s Final by defeating Forge in the qualifying semi-final in Hamilton, thanks to Tobias Warschewski’s winning goal.

These two sides also met in the CPL Final in 2019 and 2023, with Forge winning both times. The Hamilton club won 2-0 on aggregate in the two-legged 2019 matchup, and claimed last year’s Final 2-1 at Tim Hortons Field after extra time.

In the regular season, Cavalry and Forge finished second and first in the table, respectively; Forge lifted the CPL Shield as regular season title winners and thus earned a spot in the 2025 Concacaf Champions Cup.

As a result of Forge qualifying for the Final, Cavalry have also officially guaranteed themselves a spot in the Concacaf Champions Cup regardless of whether they win or not.

The 2024 CPL Final will kick off at 1 p.m. MT/3 p.m. ET, and will be available to watch live on CBC and OneSoccer. Tickets are available here.
