Cavalry FC Signs Tobias Warschewski to 2024 Roster

Calgary, AB (January 16, 2023) – Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) has signed German forward Tobias Warschewski on a one-year contract with a two-year option ahead of the 2024 season.

Born in Dortmund, Warschewski began his youth career with German clubs Eintracht Dortmund and Preußen Münster where he began his senior career before making a move to Canada. In 2021, Warschewski joined CPL side FC Edmonton where he contributed on average, a goal involvement every second match. He scored 11 goals and provided 14 assists in 49 appearances for the northern Alberta side, including a memorable last-minute bicycle kick against Valour FC that secured a draw in the 2022 season.

“I’m very excited to be returning to Canada and playing with Cavalry FC. I enjoyed my previous time in the CPL and knew I wanted to return as soon as the opportunity came. Cavalry is very successful, and I can’t wait to join the squad and contribute to this club.”

– Tobias Warschewski

Internationally, Warschewski made four appearances for Germany’s U19 squad.

“Tobi is a great addition to our team. He’s a versatile forward that can play centrally, wide or drop into the number 10 role. His type of profile is rare and allows us to continue to be flexible with our tactical approach to games. He has a proven track record in his goal contributions in the CPL (both scoring and assisting), along with the ability to score or create in various ways. His addition to our attacking unit gives us another exciting weapon in our artillery.”
