Calgary, AB (September 7, 2023) – Cavalry FC today announced the signing of 17-year-old midfielder, Tate Asante, to a developmental contract for the remainder of the season.

Born in Calgary, Asante developed with New Frontier Soccer Club and joined Cavalry FC’s U21 squad this summer, where he was a member of the inaugural League1 Alberta Exhibition Series season.

“Tate has shown a lot of high potential qualities that we like,” said Tommy Wheeldon Jr., Head Coach & General Manager, Cavalry FC. “He is a very mobile and athletic midfielder, with a good sense of the game on both sides of the ball. We’ve enjoyed watching him play, with energy and enthusiasm with our U21’s and he’s adapted quite well training with the professionals.”
