2025 TELUS Canadian Championship

Canada Soccer’s TELUS Canadian Championship, also known as the Battle of the North, is the nation’s highest men’s domestic competition featuring clubs from coast to coast across the country, notably professional teams in Major League Soccer and the Canadian Premier League as well as league winners in League1 Alberta, League1 BC, League1 Ontario and Ligue1 Québec.

Winners of the 2025 TELUS Canadian Championship lift the Voyageurs Cup and qualify the ​2026 Concacaf Champions Cup.

The TELUS Canadian Championship is a separate tournament which takes place alongside our Canadian Premier League Regular Season matches. Learn more about the tournament here!

The results in this tournament do not affect our regular season standings.

The winner of this two-match series will advance to the Semi-Final round of the tournament

If we advance to the Semi-Final round, we would take part in a two-match series. (exact final dates and times will be announced if this is the case.)

The outcome of all TELUS Canadian Championship matches only impact our advancement in the tournament and have no influence on our placement in the 2025 Canadian Premier League Regular Season standings.

We made our tournament debut in 2019, where we notably won 2-1 against the Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Semi-Final round of the tournament, which was the club’s best ever Canadian Championship cup run.

We have appeared in the tournament every year since (excluding 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID pandemic) and we will be on the hunt to make our first championship final round appearance in this year’s tournament.

Last year during our 2024 campaign of the tournament, Cavalry FC faced Vancouver Whitecaps FC in the Quarter-Final, where they notably defeated the MLS team 2-1 in Leg Two at BC Place.
