2024 Open Trials FAQ
WHAT are Open Trials?
The Open Trial process is one that gives prospective players the opportunity to be evaluated by the Cavalry FC Technical Staff for possible recruitment.
This is the only time we will be having Open Trials during this season.
WHEN are the Open Trials?
The Open Trials for 2024 will be from January 17–19. Groups will be predetermined by staff and registrants will be notified by email about their group assignment closer to the event date.
Wednesday, January 17 & Thursday, January 18
10 a.m.–4 p.m.
Friday, January 19
Those selected for the Combine Match will be advised of Friday’s details after 4:00 p.m. on January 18, 2024.

What is the COST of the Open Trials?
The cost to participate in the Open Trials is $300 CDN (includes G.S.T.)
You must be registered and paid in full in order to be accepted to the Open Trials. Available spots are limited. Please only register if you are certain, you will be able to attend. There are strictly NO REFUNDS on registrations.
NOTE: Cavalry FC will not supplement any costs incurred by the participant. All costs, including (but not limited to) travel, accommodation, visitor visa, registration fees, meals, etc. are the complete responsibility of the attendee.
HOW do I register as a participant in the Open Trials?
Participants can register and complete all required waivers online.

WHAT is included in the Registration Fees?
Guaranteed two sessions (over two days) with the chance to be selected for an invite-only combine match (11 v 11).
Lunch is not provided, but there will be some “athlete fuel” like protein bars, fruit, etc. available.

Do I need a visa to enter Canada?
CHECK HERE to find out if you require a VISA to enter Canada or if your passport will suffice.
Please be sure to check this if you are NOT a player from CANADA. Cavalry FC is not responsible for the coordination of your visitor visa – the Government of Canada link above will answer all the questions you should have in this regard.

How will I know if I have been ACCEPTED for the Combine Match?
Players will be notified following the conclusion of the second session on January 18. If you have been selected for the combine game, details will follow.
Travel / Transportation / Accommodation Information
Cavalry FC will not supplement any costs incurred by the participant. All costs, including (but not limited to) travel, accommodation, visitor visa, registration fees, meals, etc. are the complete responsibility of the attendee.
