Introducing Cavalry FC Skills Centres

Cavalry FC is excited to launch our Skills Centre program, in partnership with the Alberta Soccer Association.

Skills Centres are sixteen-week long programs with locations across Alberta that provide aspiring players aged 8 to 14 with the opportunity to learn critical skills that will further develop their soccer abilities. Not only will players grow their skills, but they will also join the Cavalry community and create long lasting friendships with their peers.

“The launch of the skills centres is an exciting step for the club. They provide players an opportunity to continue their development and learn the Cavalry way from a young age. The programs are centered around improving players technical ability and introducing them to principles that are fundamental to the Cavalry DNA.”

—Vikram Virk, Coordinator, Cavalry FC Skills Centres & Head Coach, Cavalry FC U21

The program lasts sixteen weeks and offers locations in Calgary, Central Alberta (Ponoka), and Canmore.

The Skills Centres act as the bridge for skill development between the Cavalry FC Camps and ID Program that guides players with potential into the possibility of joining the first team.

Cavalry FC takes immense pride in the pathway which it has created for players across Alberta, providing an opportunity for young players to achieve their goals of playing professionally like never before.

“Cavalry FC is great because it gives opportunities to young Canadians. As a teenager my dream was always to play professionally, but I felt there was a lack of opportunities in Canada, especially in Alberta. This is why it’s so special to have these programs, because kids do not need to leave anymore, there is a direct pathway from grassroots all the way to the pros. I am very proud to be part of this and I look forward to seeing it continue to grow.”

—Cavalry FC Defender Bradley Kamdem

The Cavalry FC Skill Centre will run in Calgary for sixteen weeks on Sundays, starting May 5.
