Spruce Meadows, Cavalry FC Reaffirm Respect for City Water Restrictions

Use of our own internal water supply and irrigation systems continues as Cavalry FC play host to Valour FC on Friday, August 30 at 7:30 p.m. MT.

Calgary, AB – Spruce Meadows once again confirms its full support and understanding of renewed outdoor water restrictions imposed by the City of Calgary, as Cavalry FC play host to Valour FC on Friday, August 30 and ahead of Spruce Meadows’ most prestigious tournament, The ‘Masters’, next week on September 4-8.

While the Spruce Meadows property sits outside of City boundaries, we fully respect and will be compliant to the issued advisories.

As we get set to host our final home matches of the 2024 CPL regular season as well as welcome the world’s best show jumpers and their horses, and thousands of fans throughout the months of September and October, we will continue to rely on our own wells, pond water and irrigation systems to meet our needs, as well as those of our fans, athletes and horses, as we have since 1975.

“We have openly supported the City of Calgary’s water restrictions since they were first imposed earlier this summer, and will continue to do so as long as necessary.”

Spruce Meadows President & CEO Linda Southern-Heathcott
Spruce Meadows will be operating under the approved City of Calgary festival guidelines. As such, Spruce Meadows will endeavor to continue to reduce water use by:
  • Providing bottled water
  • Making portable toilets available
  • Providing hand sanitizers to reduce hand washing
  • Increasing usage of cleaning methods that do not require water

We can’t wait to see everyone out for our remaining home matches of the 2024 season in our push for playoffs. For more information about tickets, visit cavalryfc.ca/tickets
